History of Marks Medical College
Marks Medical College is part of the renowned Marks Group, an organization deeply rooted in Bangladesh’s healthcare sector. The journey began in June 1995 with the establishment of Marks ENT Clinic & General Hospital, which later expanded into various medical and health education initiatives.
The medical college was founded under the leadership of Late Brigadier General Professor Dr. Muhammad Masudur Rahman Khan, a highly respected ENT and Head–Neck Surgeon. His lifelong mission was to make quality medical education and healthcare accessible to people from all backgrounds.
In 2011, Marks Medical College officially commenced its MBBS program after receiving approval from the Government of Bangladesh and academic affiliation with the University of Dhaka. BMDC recognition further ensured national and international credibility of its degree.
Over time, the college expanded its academic departments, research facilities, and hospital infrastructure. Today, it operates a modern teaching hospital with more than 650 beds, offering students extensive clinical exposure in a real healthcare environment.
